Heathrow Airport closed due to power outage, 1,300 flights cancelled

In a post on social media, Heathrow Airport said the airport would remain closed until 11:59pm on March 21 to ensure the safety of passengers and colleagues. Passengers are advised not to come to the airport.

An airport spokesman said firefighters were working at the scene. "We are not sure when power will be restored. We are doing our best to get the situation back to normal," the airport said.

Heathrow's traffic authority said there were currently 120 flights bound for Heathrow that had to either land at another airport or return to their original destination.

বিমানের টিকিটের দাম বাড়ানোর সুযোগ নেই: ধর্ম উপদেষ্টা

 ধর্মবিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা আ ফ ম খালিদ হোসেন বলেছেন,পবিত্র হজ ও ওমরাহ পালনকে কেন্দ্র করে বিমানের টিকিটে সিন্ডিকেট করে বা গ্রুপ ভিত্তিক বুকিং দিয়ে আর দাম বাড়ানোর সুযোগ নেই।

শুক্রবার দুপুরে কক্সবাজার জেলা মডেল মসজিদ ও সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্র উদ্বোধন অনুষ্ঠানে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।

ধর্ম উপদেষ্টা বলেন, বিমানের টিকিট নিয়ে অব্যবস্থাপনা, সিন্ডিকেটের খবর পত্র-পত্রিকায় এসেছে। ইতোমধ্যে প্রবাসী কল্যাণ মন্ত্রণালয়, আইন মন্ত্রণালয়ের উপদেষ্টা এবং প্রধান উপদেষ্টাসহ অন্যান্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের সহযোগিতায় একটা নীতিমালা করা হয়েছে। এখন টিকিট করতে গেলে সংশ্লিষ্ট যাত্রীর পাসপোর্ট নম্বর দিয়ে করতে হবে এবং ৩ দিনের মধ্যে যদি তিনি টিকিট না কেনেন তা বাতিল হয়ে যাবে।তিনি বলেন, কোনো বৈদেশিক অনুদান ছাড়াই সরকার সারাদেশে প্রায় সাড়ে ৯ হাজার কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ৫৬৪টি মডেল মসজিদ নির্মাণ করছে। ইতোমধ্যে ৩৫০টি মডেল মসজিদের নির্মাণ কাজ শেষ হয়েছে। আরও ২১৪টি নির্মাণ করা হবে। অতীতে মসজিদের সাইট সিলেকশনে কিছু অনিয়ম ছিল। অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের সময়ে যে মসজিদগুলো নির্মাণ করা হবে তা যথাযথভাবে সাইট সিলেকশন, ফিজিবিলিটি স্টাডি, গণপূর্ত অধিদপ্তরের ডিজিটাল সার্ভেসহ যেখানে মসজিদের প্রয়োজন সেখানে করা হবে।

এর আগে দুপুর ১২ টায় কক্সবাজার জেলা মডেল মসজিদ ও সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্রের নাম ফলক উন্মোচন করে ধর্ম উপদেষ্টা। এ সময় সঙ্গে ছিলেন কক্সবাজারের জেলা প্রশাসক মোহাম্মদ সালাহউদ্দিন।

ঢাবিতে একাধিক মিছিলে আওয়ামী লীগ নিষিদ্ধের দাবি

 আওয়ামী লীগকে নিষিদ্ধ করার দাবিতে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে (ঢাবি) একাধিক বিক্ষোভ মিছিল হয়েছে। মিছিল থেকে দলটি নিষিদ্ধ করা নিয়ে প্রধান উপদেষ্টা ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসের বক্তব্য প্রত্যাহার চেয়েছেন শিক্ষার্থীরা।

আজ শুক্রবার জুমা নামাজের পর থেকে ঢাবির কেন্দ্রীয় মসজিদের সামনে থেকে মিছিল শুরু করে বাংলাদেশ গণতান্ত্রিক ছাত্রসংসদ। সংগঠনটি আওয়ামী লীগ ও নৌকা প্রতীক দ্রুত নিষিদ্ধের দাবি জানায়। পরে তারা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এলাকা প্রদক্ষিণ করে কেন্দ্রীয় লাইব্রেরির সামনে এসে সমাবেশ করে।একই সময় আওয়ামী লীগ নিষিদ্ধ করা ও সম্প্রতি যুদ্ধবিরতি চুক্তি লঙ্ঘন করে ফিলিস্তিনের ওপর গণহত্যা চালানোর প্রতিবাদ জানিয়ে মিছিল আয়োজন করে ইনকিলাব মঞ্চ। জুমার নামাজের পর তারা কেন্দ্রীয় মসজিদ থেকে মিছিল শুরু করে রাজু ভাস্কর্যে এসে সংক্ষিপ্ত সমাবেশ করে মিছিলের সমাপ্তি টানে।

এদিকে বিকেল সাড়ে ৩টায় ‘ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সাধারণ শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দে’র ব্যানারে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের হলপাড়া থেকে মিছিল নিয়ে এসে রাজু ভাস্কর্যের সামনে আওয়ামী লীগ নিষিদ্ধ চেয়ে মিছিল করে শিক্ষার্থীদের একটি দল।

গণতান্ত্রিক ছাত্রসংসদের বিক্ষোভ মিছিলে সংগঠনটির কেন্দ্রীয় সদস্যসচিব জাহিদ আহসান বলেন, আওয়ামী লীগ ও নৌকা প্রতীকে বাংলাদেশে কোনো রাজনীতি হবে না। আওয়ামী লীগ নামে কোনো সংস্কার হবে না। বাংলাদেশকে আমরা আরও একটি গণহত্যার দিকে ঠেলে দিতে পারি না। নামে-বেনামে আওয়ামী লীগ ফিরিয়ে আনার প্রচেষ্টা চলছে। সেটা যেখান থেকেই হোক, এর বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের সংগ্রাম চলবে।গণতান্ত্রিক ছাত্রসংসদের কেন্দ্রীয় মুখপাত্র আশরেফা খাতুন বলে, আমরা আগস্টে যেভাবে আওয়ামী লীগের বিরুদ্ধে ছিলাম, এখনও তেমনই আছি। যতদিন পর্যন্ত আওয়ামী লীগ নিষিদ্ধ না হয়, ততদিন আমরা মাঠে থাকব।

রাজু ভাস্কর্যে ইনকিলাব মঞ্চের মুখপাত্র শরিফ ওসমান বিন হাদী বলেন, আড়াই তিন বছর বিএনপি ক্ষমতায় থাকবে। এরপর আওয়ামী লীগ ভারত ইসরায়েলকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে এমন ষড়যন্ত্র করবে তিন বছরের মাথায় বিএনপিকে লাথি মেরে ক্ষমতা থেকে সরিয়ে দেবে। সেই আওয়ামী লীগ ভারতের সহায়তায় ক্ষমতায় এসে দুই হাজার শহীদের বাবা-মা, ভাইবোনদের কচুকাটা করবে। ৫০ হাজার আহতদের প্রত্যেককে ধরে ধরে কচুকাটা করবে। সুতরাং আহত শহীদ পরিবার এবং জুলাই যোদ্ধাদের বাঁচাতে রক্ত থাকতে আওয়ামী লীগের পুনর্বাসন করতে দেব না। তাই, আওয়ামী লীগকে নিষিদ্ধ না করা পর্যন্ত আমরা রাজপথ ছাড়বো না।

সাধারণ শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দের ব্যানারে সমাবেশে শিক্ষার্থী শাহেদ ইমন বলেন, দুই হাজার শহীদ ভাইয়ের লাল রক্তে জুলাইয়ে কোটি জনতা বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতিতে আওয়ামী লীগকে লাল কার্ড দেখিয়েছে। আমরা বলে দিচ্ছি, আমরা জান দেব, জুলাই দেব না। শহীদদের সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করব না। এই বাংলার মাটিতে যতক্ষণ লীগ নামক শব্দ থাকবে; ততক্ষণ পর্যন্ত আমরা রাজপথ ছাড়ব না। যতক্ষণ পর্যন্ত শহীদদের রক্তের বিচার না হবে, হাসিনাকে ফাঁসিতে ঝুলানো না হবে আমরা বিশ্রাম নেব না।

এর আগে বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে ঢাবির সাধারণ শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দের ব্যানারে আওয়ামী লীগ নিষিদ্ধের দাবি জানানো হয়। রাত দেড়টার দিকে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের হলপাড়া থেকে মিছিল নিয়ে রাজু ভাস্কর্যে এসে সমাবেশ করেন শিক্ষার্থীরা। বিক্ষোভ মিছিলে ইসলামিক স্টাডিজ বিভাগের ছাত্র এবি জোবায়ের বলেন, দুই হাজার শহীদ এবং এখনো হাজার হাজার আহতরা হাসপাতালে কাতরাচ্ছে। গণহত্যার দায়ে আওয়ামী লীগকে নিষিদ্ধ করতে হবে। আওয়ামী লীগকে নিষিদ্ধ করার আগ পর্যন্ত কোনো নির্বাচন হবে না। যে যা-ই বলুক, জুলাইয়ের সৈনিকরা এখনো মাঠে আছি।

বাংলা বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী মোসাদ্দেক আলী ইবনে মোহাম্মদ বলেন, বিভিন্ন ক্যালকুলেশনের মাধ্যমে বিভিন্ন রাজনৈতিক দল আওয়ামী লীগকে পুনর্বাসনের চেষ্টা করছে। ৫ আগস্ট আওয়ামী লীগকে নিষিদ্ধ করার সিদ্ধান্ত জনগণ দিয়ে দিয়েছে। হয় আওয়ামী লীগ থাকবে, নয় ছাত্রসমাজ থাকবে। একবিন্দু রক্ত থাকতে আওয়ামী লীগকে রাজনীতি করতে দেওয়া হবে না।

ট্রেনের ১৩০টি টিকিটসহ আটক সাজেদুর

 

দিনাজপুরে ট্রেনের ১৩০টি টিকিটসহ সাজেদুর রহমান (২৮) নামে নৌবাহিনীর এক কর্মকর্তাকে আটক করেছে রেলওয়ে নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর সদস্যরা।

শুক্রবার দুপুরে তাকে দিনাজপুর জিআরপির থানা থেকে ছাড়িয়ে নিয়ে যান নৌবাহিনীর সদস্যরা। এর আগে বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে তাকে দিনাজপুর জিআরপি থানায় আটক করে নিয়ে আসা হয়েছিল।আটক সাজেদুর রহমান ঠাকুরগাঁওয়ের বালিয়াডাঙ্গী উপজেলার রাধানাথপুর গ্রামের বাসিন্দা।রেলওয়ে নিরাপত্তা বিভাগের পার্বতীপুর সার্কেলের পরিদর্শক হাসান শিহাবুল ইসলাম বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।

তিনি ৯ বছর ধরে নৌবাহিনীতে কর্মরত রয়েছেন এবং বর্তমানে খুলনার বিএনএস পদ্মা ইউনিটে ল্যান্স করপোরাল পদে কর্মরত আছেন বলে জানিয়েছেন এই কর্মকর্তা।বিভিন্ন রুটের ট্রেনের ১৩০টি টিকিট ছাড়াও তাঁর কাছ থেকে তিনটি মোবাইল ও বিভিন্ন কোম্পানির ১৪টি সিম কার্ডও পাওয়া গেছে। যেগুলো জব্দ করা হয়েছে।দিনাজপুর জিআরপি থানা সূত্রে জানা যায়, ঢাকা থেকে ছেড়ে আসা দ্রুতযান এক্সপ্রেস ট্রেনটি বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল ১০টায় ঠাকুরগাঁও পৌঁছালে প্ল্যাটফর্মে টিকিট চেক শুরু করেন রেলওয়ে নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর সদস্যরা। এসময় সাজেদুরের টিকিট চেক করার সময় এক টিকিটে ২২ জনের আসন দেখতে পান। এসময় দায়িত্বরত টিটি তার পরিচয় জানতে চাইলে নিজেকে নৌবাহিনীর সদস্য পরিচয় দেন।

বিষয়টি নিয়ে সন্দেহ সৃষ্টি হলে রেলওয়ে নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর সদস্যরা তাকে ঠাকুরগাঁও জিআরপি থানায় নিয়ে যান। সেখানে তাকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করলে টিকিট কালোবাজারির কথা স্বীকার করেন। পরে তার কাছে ট্রেনের বিভিন্ন রুটের আরও ১০৮টি আসনের টিকিট পাওয়া যায়। এসব টিকিট ২১ থেকে ২৫ মার্চের এবং যাত্রাপথ ঢাকা থেকে পার্বতীপুর ও পঞ্চগড়ের। রাতেই তাকে ঠাকুরগাঁও থেকে দিনাজপুর জিআরপি থানায় নিয়ে আসা হয়।

আটক সাজেদুরের সঙ্গে কথা বলে তার পরিচয় নিশ্চিত হয়ে নৌবাহিনীর সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করে জিআরপি থানা কর্তৃপক্ষ। পরে শুক্রবার দুপুরে নৌবাহিনী সদস্যরা এসে বিভাগীয় তদন্ত করে আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের কথা জানিয়ে সাজেদুরকে নিয়ে যান।

অভিযুক্ত সাজেদুর রহমান বলেন, খুলনাতে থাকা অবস্থায় ১০ দিন আগে থেকে এসব টিকিট সংগ্রহ করি। আজ বাড়ি যাচ্ছিলাম। এগুলো আমি অফিসের মাধ্যমে সংগ্রহ করেছি। আমরা কোথাও যেতে হলে আবেদন দিলে তখন আমাদের ওয়ারেন্ট দেয়। তিনটি ওয়ারেন্ট ব্যবহার করে এই টিকিটগুলো কিনেছি।

রেলওয়ে নিরাপত্তা বিভাগের পার্বতীপুর সার্কেলের পরিদর্শক হাসান শিহাবুল ইসলাম বলেন, আমরা রেলওয়ের ১৩০টি টিকিটসহ নৌবাহিনীতে কর্মরত সদস্যকে ঠাকুরগাঁও থেকে আটক করি। আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের জন্য তাকে দিনাজপুরে নিয়ে আসি। পরবর্তীতে ঢাকা হেডকোয়ার্টার থেকে তাদের একটি প্রতিনিধি দল আজকে সকালে এখানে আসে। তাদের সঙ্গে আমাদের আলাপ আলোচনা হয়। উভয় ডিপার্টমেন্টের ঊর্ধ্বতনের নির্দেশনা মোতাবেক তারা তাদের আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করবে মর্মে অভিযুক্ত ব্যক্তিকে তাদের জিম্মায় নিয়ে গেছে। আমরা ১৩০টি টিকিট, ১৪টি সিমকার্ড, তিনটি মোবাইল ফোনসহ আইডি কার্ড জব্দ করেছি।

In 2013, Ahsan acted in an Indian Bangla film titled Aborto, directed by Arindam Sil.^[15] She was nominated for the Filmfare Awards East for Best Debut Performance Female for her role in the film. She also received an official invitation to attend the 66th Cannes Film Festival. In the same year, she appeared in Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini, a Bangladeshi romantic film directed by Shafi Uddin Shafi. It was her first Bangladeshi film in collaboration with Shakib Khan. They both starred in its sequel, Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini 2, released in 2015.^{[citation needed]}

After a one-year break Zero Degree was her next venture. The film is a psychological thriller written and directed by Animesh Aich and was released on 15 January 2015. Ahsan won a National Film Award for best actress for her performance in the film. In 2015, Ahsan worked in two other Indian Bangla films — Rajkahini based on the 1947 east and west Bengal separation directed by Srijit Mukherji and Ekti Bangali Bhuter Goppo, a psycho-horror film directed by Indranil Roychowdhury. Ekti Bangali Bhuter Golpo was set for a world TV premier in Kolkata on 17 May in Zee Bangla Cinema. Jaya's much anticipated Rajkahini starring alongside Rituparna Sengupta, Abir Chatterjee, Parno Mittra, Sohini Sarkar, Rajatava Dutta and many others was released on 16 October 2015.

In 2017, Ahsan acted in Bishorjan alongside Abir Chatterjee and Kaushik Ganguly directed by Kaushik Ganguly himself, for which she received awards including Filmfare Awards (first Bangladeshi to win so), Zee Cine Awards and BFJA Awards for her performance portraying the character of Padma. In the same year, Jaya was honoured with the ABP Ananda Sera Bangali for achievement in acting. Her other two releases that year are Akram Khan's Khacha: The Cage and Manoj Michigan's Ami Joy Chatterjee.

In 2018, Ahsan performed in a courtroom drama Ek Je Chhilo Raja based on the historic Bhawal case directed by Srijit Mukjerji in a star cast including Jisshu Sengupta, Aparna Sen, Anjan Dutt, Rudranil Ghosh and others. She was also seen in Crisscross alongside Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan, directed by Birsa Dasgupta. Debi, a film based on Humayun Ahmed's novel, was released on 19 October 2018. It is directed by Anam Biswas, starring Chanchal Chowdhury, Ahsan and Sabnam Faria in the lead roles. The film was produced by Ahsan, as her first production from her production house C Te Cinema.^[17] She received her fourth National Film Award for Best Actress and her seventh Meril Prothom Alo Award for Best Film Actress (Critics Choice) for her performance in this film.

In 2019, her first release was Kaushik Ganguly's Bijoya, sequel to Bishorjan for which she won the Tele Cine Awards for Best Actress and Best Jodi alongside her co-star Abir Chatterjee.^[20] Then she was seen in Arnab Paul's debut Brishty Tomakey Dilam, a psychological thriller based on split personality disorder. She received the 'Dashobhuja Bangali 2019' award from the St. Xavier's College Calcutta Alumni Association. Next she did Konttho which released on 10 May directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee starring Shiboprosad Mukherjee himself, Paoli Dam where Jaya plays the role of a speech therapist. After that she teamed up with Atanu Ghosh for his movie Bini Sutoy alongside Ritwick Chakraborty. Jaya again worked with Atanu Ghosh next film titled Robibar starring with Prosenjit Chatterjee for the first time. She has finished Soukarya Ghosal's fantasy horror Bhootpori and is shooting for Kaushik Ganguly's next titled Ardhangini starring alongside Churni Ganguly. She wrapped up filming Alatchakra, the first 3D Bengali movie directed by Habibur Rahman based on the novel by Ahmed Sofa. She recently worked with Piplu Khan on his first feature film Jaya Aar Sharmin based on the current pandemic.

In December 2023, Ahsan made her Bollywood debut in Kadak Singh, a thriller film by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury released on Zee5. Hindustan Times regarded her performance in the film as "Outstanding on OTT: Breakout Performance".

Ahsan is also a singer and took diploma courses in Indian classical music and Rabindra Sangeet. She did playback in few films, such as "Tomer Khola Hawa" in Dubshatar and "Jongoler Daak" in Mesidona.

Other activities

Ahsan is a craftswoman and a visual-artist, which she demonstrated in art-house movie productions like Enechhi Shurjer Hashi. She was chosen as a brand ambassador for USAID (US Agency for International Development) to help women and children. In 2019, Ahsan was chosen as the brand ambassador of Bangamata U-19 Women's International Gold Cup.

Faisal Ahsan  a television model, on 14 May 1998 married . The couple was also seen in same television ad.Together they ran an event management company.
